Tips & Tricks

for a longer durability

  • Base coat and colour nail polish should be applied in thin layers, while the top coat can be applied as a thicker layer.

  • Coating the nail edges on each layer helps to extend the durability.

  • UV nail polish should not be applied on the skin or cuticles.

Finding the ideal lamp

For best results, use a lamp with 36 watt power and 39 LED lights. The LED lights should be attached to both the top and the sides of the lamp so that each finger (especially the thumb!) is exposed to light.

FAQ - The most frequently asked questions at a glance

“Can you also use lamps that have a different wattage to the essence recommendation?”

Yes, in principle the paint should cure under any UV/LED lamp. However, the system was only tested at 36 watts. Therefore, we recommend curing the paint with 36 watt lamps for an ideal result.

“The UV nail polish does not stay on the nails. What can help?”

If the nail polish does not stay on the nails, check that the natural nail has been properly prepared before the manicure. This means that the natural nail has been roughened up with a gentle nail file to help the base coat adhere better. Also, the nail edges on each nail should be well covered to prevent air from getting under the polish.

“The UV nail polish detaches from the nail plate. What could be causing this?”

If the nail plate is incorrectly prepped and not adequately degreased, the base coat and/or nail polish is applied too thickly or the recommended watt lamp is not used, the UV nail polish may detach from the nail plate.

“The UV nail polish is difficult to remove. What can help?”

The surface of the UV top coat should be roughened up generously with a coarse nail file to allow the UV nail polish remover to absorb well. The remover clips should be removed individually after absorbing to prevent the acetone from evaporating in the meantime. If the problem persists, you can polish the nail with a buffing file during your next manicure instead of roughening the nail. This will allow the UV nail polish to detach from the nail plate more easily, but could alter the durability of the UV manicure on the nails.

“Nails are very short and are difficult to coat with the UV nail polish. Is there a trick for this?”

For short nails, the fingertips can be gently pressed down so that the nail sticks out slightly and the free nail edge can be coated. However, skin contact should also be avoided here.

“The paint is a little too thick. How can the application be made easier?”

If the paint is too gooey, you can try rolling it between your hands to warm it up a little.

“Why does the UV nail polish feel sticky after curing? Has the UV nail polish not dried properly?”

UV nail polishes do not air dry and must be cured under a UV/LED lamp. This creates a sticky layer called a sweat layer. These layers of sweat are important and should not be removed to allow the paint layers to adhere to each other. Only the last layer after curing the top coat should be removed with the cleaner to give the UV manicure a beautiful shine.

“The nail polish has small bubbles, what is causing this and how can it be prevented?”

Shake the bottle less vigorously just before use. If the bottle has been lying down/stood for a long time, the bottle can be shaken vigorously once so that the pigments spread well. Wait a short time for the texture to settle before use. Another reason may be that the texture has been applied too thickly or the recommended wattage has not been observed.

“Nails feel hot under the lamp. Is this dangerous? What should be done here?”

If the natural nail is severely damaged due to incorrect products or previous application, you should try to treat the nail in addition to applying UV GEL NAIL POLISH in order to regenerate it. Avoid roughing up the natural nail too much. Another reason may be that the texture has been applied too thickly or the recommended wattage has not been observed.

“How do you know that the natural nail is adequately roughed up?”

The natural nail should no longer have shiny spots and look dull.
