emulsifiers
prevent emulsions from immediately separating out again into water and oil – and are therefore key ingredients in many creams.
emulsion
contains both water and oils and is a stable, fluid mixture. it penetrates the skin very quickly and leaves a protective film on the skin. this helps moisturise the outer layers of skin.
exfoliation
exfoliants contain tiny, smooth-edged natural or synthetic granules as peel particles. they come as creams, emulsions, gels or masks.
